Loudoun Now Letter to the Editor
In honor of #NationalLibraryWeek and National Library Workers Day (#NLWD25), I wrote a letter to the editor of Loudoun Now. I applauded the workers of the @loudouncountypubliclibrary. As a writer, editor, and writing workshop leader, I thanked them for their help and guidance. I especially appreciated their assistance while writing my book, 10 Little Rules When Good Jobs Go Bad.
Some of the library services I used include the t-shirt printing press, the recording studio, and the online research services.

More about the book
The book is full of simple tips that help you change your mindset, improve your work environment, and regain some control, even if the job itself isn’t changing.
Things like setting boundaries, improving communication with your boss or coworkers, and finding ways to build your skills on the side, all help you survive and even thrive while you’re in a rough patch.
Each job choice shapes who we are, what we do, and how we live.
You take every job, assuming it is a good one, yet at any point, your intuition tells you something has changed. It could be the organization or you. Regardless, only you can fix your work and your life.
Readers love it and have responded with five star reviews:
- A wonderful read no matter where you are in your career
- An interactive and engaging “how to.”
- An insightful “workbook for life,” not just for job-seekers!
- A quick, useful read with engaging stories.
